About PRMI Hawaii

Primary Residential Mortgage, Inc. (PRMI) opened its doors for business in 1998, operating out of a small executive suite with a handful of employees.  Like many small businesses, we weren’t sure how successful we would be or where the road would lead.  What we did know was that we were passionate about the mortgage industry and our customers.

Today we are one of more than 200 branch offices nationwide and are proud to have a family of talented staff members to work with you.  We’ve become one of the most respected and financially stable companies in our industry by making conscientious business decisions.

Our Corporate office is in Salt Lake City, Utah where they are known for traditional values and hard workers.  We take these principles and apply them to the mortgage industry.

PRMI Hawaii has 2 branches on the island of Oahu.  Our Main Branch is at the TOPA Financial Center located in bustling downtown Honolulu.  Our Kaimuki Branch is located on the East Side in the heart of quaint Kaimuki town.

All members of our Loan Team are career mortgage professionals and incredibly service oriented.  We are an approved Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac lender and have in-house Underwriters who can approve all loans including FHA and VA transactions.

At PRMI we believe that working with a qualified Reverse Mortgage professional is critical when considering this type of mortgage.  Knowing the benefits of a Reverse Mortgage is just one part of your overall financial picture.

We encourage all family members to be a part of the Reverse Mortgage process.  Our team works together with all involved to come up with solutions that best fit your unique needs.

Please call one of our Reverse Mortgage experts for a no-obligation consultation and let us help you “Enjoy Your Retirement!”

Nelson Oyadomari

Since 1993, Nelson has been involved in different areas of mortgage lending, first at Honolulu Mortgage Company then with Bank of America and finally here at PRMI Hawaii.  He is a member in good standing with the following organizations:

• Mortgage Bankers Association

• Society of Certified Senior Advisors

“I absolutely love being a mortgage lender.  When we help a young couple purchase their first home, help someone refinance to improve their cash-flow or help a Senior gain financial peace-of-mind with a reverse mortgage, it makes the long hours all worthwhile!"

Nelson enjoys golfing, is an avid Elvis Presley fan and lives and dies by the fortunes (and misfortunes) of the San Francisco 49ers.

Lisa Watabayashi

Lisa Watabayashi started her mortgage career in 1992 with Honolulu Mortgage Company.  She subsequently moved to various lending institutions including Bank of Hawaii, Norwest Mortgage of Hawaii, and Countrywide Home Loans where she was the Hawaii Wholesale Manager.

After retiring in 2007, her family moved to Washington state then Nevada, where Lisa was fortunate to raise her kids full time. She was involved in the PTA and thrived as a soccer and chess mom.

Lisa and her family moved back to Hawaii in the summer of 2021 and joined PRMI that November. With her mortgage experience, it seemed like a natural progression to step in as the Reverse Mortgage Consultant and work with seniors.

“Being a senior myself and coming from the same generation, I can relate to seniors, and I enjoy talking and working with them.  It is very satisfying knowing we can help our kupunas live more comfortably and enjoy retirement.”

Lisa graduated from the University of Hawaii at Manoa with a Bachelor of Business Administration.  She majored in Accounting and has an inactive CPA License from the State of California.  Lisa enjoys traveling, hiking, working out, Jazzercise, baking and hanging with her PomChi, Rusty.

Lorelei Nishiguchi

Lorelei joined PRMI in October 2006 as a Business Development Officer and currently is a Loan Officer.  She is a graduate of the University of Hawaii Manoa where she earned her BBA degree in International Business.

Fluent in the Japanese language she has also lived and worked in Japan teaching English to elementary school students.  Her career started at the former City Bank as a Training Officer.  After leaving the banking industry, she went on to a successful career in retail management for 10 years.  There she developed an international clientele and was recognized for her customer service skills, sales and overall performance.

This passion and understanding of customer relations led her to PRMI.  Some of Lorelei's responsibilities include business development, organizing mortgage seminars for clients and Realtors and promoting PRMI as the leader in responsible lending.

“It is an honor to be part of such a great organization that has such a talented team of professionals."
